Agumatsa Waterfalls

Mi trovo nel villaggio di Wli, un’ora e mezza distante da Ve Deme, e famoso per le cascate di Agumatsa, che significa “allow me to flow”.

Da due giorni si stanno battendo delle forti piogge nella Volta Region pertanto non eravamo sicuri di poter scalare la montagna. Alla fine, anche su suggerimento della guida, decidiamo lo stesso di raggiungere le cascate. E per fortuna anche il tempo ci ha assistito.

Abbiamo camminato lungo i sentieri per circa 5 ore circa… fisicamente provante ma raggiunta la cima il panorama è stato mozzafiato!

È stato anche interessante incontrare lungo il tragitto piante di cacao, di caffè robusta e una specie particolare di funghi dei quali la guida ne ha fatto incetta.

I’m in the village of Wli, an hour and a half away from Ve Deme, and famous for the Agumatsa Falls, the name that can be translated as “allow e to flow”.

For two days we heavy rains have been falling in Volta Region so we were not sure if we could climb the mountain. In the end,  as our guide suggested, we decide to reach the falls. And fortunately, the weather was kind to us.

We walked along the trails for about 5 hours… it was very exhausting but reaching the view from the top was breathtaking!

It was also interesting to discover cocoa plants, robusta coffee and a special kind of mushrooms along the way, that our guide was gathering.
